What to Expect

Milford runs a fuller kids' calendar than its size suggests. Weekly Story Time appears twice — a morning session and an afternoon one — with Toddler Time on top, so there's usually a story-time option that fits a nap schedule. School-age kids have Lego Club and a weekly Gaming Hour, and the calendar picks up one-offs through the year: a Pokemon GO walk for kids and another for teens, Pokemon card magnets, Back to School Bingo.

The library also keeps a separate teen center with its own posted hours, and lists a Library of Things among its services.

The practical catch is Saturday: the library closes at 2pm, and Sunday it's closed entirely.

Who It's Best For

Toddler Time and the two Weekly Story Time slots (morning and afternoon) cover the little ones. School-age kids have Lego Club and the weekly Gaming Hour. Teens have their own center hours and a Teen Pokemon GO Walk on the calendar; ages aren't posted for the other programs.

Two story times plus Toddler Time

Babies to preschool

Weekly Story Time runs both morning and afternoon, with Toddler Time as a third option — unusual flexibility for a small library.

Logistics

Admission

Free admission

Free, like all Delaware public libraries. Some programs may need sign-up.

Membership tip: A free Delaware library card also lets you reserve free passes to Delaware State Parks and the Brandywine Zoo through the libraries' Museum Pass program (one pass per card at a time).

Getting There

Parking

Parking is in the lot across Front Street from the library, so you cross a road to the door.

The lot is across Front Street — plan on holding hands for the crossing with little kids.

Pro Tips

  • Check the calendar before you drive over — story times recur but not every single week, and some sessions may need sign-up.
  • Parking is across Front Street, so budget a road crossing on the way in.
  • Saturday closes at 2pm and Sunday is closed, so the weekend window is narrow.

When to Go

Best Time to Visit

Mon-Thu 10am-7pm, Fri 10am-5pm, Sat 10am-2pm, Sunday closed. Saturday is the short day — four hours — so a weekend visit needs an early start.

Seasonal Notes

Open year-round: Mon-Thu 10am-7pm, Fri 10am-5pm, Sat 10am-2pm, Sunday closed. The teen center runs on its own schedule (Mon-Thu noon-7pm, Fri noon-5pm, Sat 10am-2pm).

Rainy Day?

A free indoor stop in downtown Milford with a kids' program most weekdays.
