South Coastal Public Library

The Bethany Beach branch leans on one-off kids' events — Story Time w/ Trash Can Dan, ArtStrong, a police dog demo — more than a fixed weekly story time.

The Quick Version

  • A Bethany Beach branch whose kids' calendar is mostly dated one-offs — Story Time w/ Trash Can Dan, ArtStrong, Feelings Rock, Music w/ Miss Maria, a Meet a Police Dog demo — rather than a program that runs every week.
  • The library's own site lists a Children's Corner, a Teens section, a Reading Garden, and study rooms.
  • Open Mon & Tue 10am–6pm, Wed & Thu 10am–7pm, Fri 10am–5pm, Sat 10am–3pm, closed Sunday.

What to Expect

South Coastal's kids' calendar works differently from a branch with a fixed weekly story time. Most of what's listed is dated and one-off: Story Time w/ Trash Can Dan, ArtStrong and Feelings Rock for ages 5 and under, Music w/ Miss Maria, Engineer Early Grab & Go STEM kits, a Meet a Police Dog demo, and a Paletero Man program with Lucky Diaz listed in both English and Spanish. PAWS for Reading and a plain Story Time show up on a couple of dates each.

The library's own site points to a Children's Corner, a Teens section, a Reading Garden, and study rooms. We haven't confirmed the parking, so leave that open. The practical note: closing time moves around — 6pm early week, 7pm Wednesday and Thursday, 5pm Friday, 3pm Saturday, and closed Sunday.

Who It's Best For

Most of the listed kids' events are tagged for age 5 and under — Feelings Rock, ArtStrong, Music w/ Miss Maria, Story Time w/ Trash Can Dan. Engineer Early Grab & Go STEM Kits and PAWS for Reading don't list an age range, and there's a separate Teens section on the site.
