What to Expect

The kids' calendar here covers a wide slate: Baby and Me for the littlest, PAWS for Reading, Youth Chess Club, Junior Artists sensory art classes, Grab & Go STEM and Crafty Kids kits, and Anime Club and Video Game Night for older kids. Some run in season rather than year-round, so check dates before you plan around one.

The library sits in the center of downtown Rehoboth and says it serves summer visitors as well as year-round residents — visitors can get a guest pass good for 60 minutes of computer use, and the wi-fi is free.

The practical wins are parking and hours. There's a patron lot behind the building, 8:00am–8:30pm, which is worth a lot in July. But Sunday hours are summer-only, June 7 through August 30.

Who It's Best For

The slate runs from Baby and Me through PAWS for Reading, Junior Artists sensory art, Youth Chess Club, Grab & Go STEM and Crafty Kids kits, up to Anime Club and Video Game Night. The calendar feed doesn't post age ranges, so check a program's page before you plan around it.

Logistics

Admission

Free admission

Free, like all Delaware public libraries. Some programs may need sign-up.

Membership tip: A free Delaware library card also lets you reserve free passes to Delaware State Parks and the Brandywine Zoo through the libraries' Museum Pass program (one pass per card at a time).

Getting There

Parking

The library has parking on its property behind the building for library users, 8:00am–8:30pm.

Downtown Rehoboth parking is hard, so the patron lot is the play. In summer the library issues a daily parking pass good in all library spaces when everyone in the car is inside for more than 30 minutes.

Food & Snacks

No food on-site. No food service — it's a library.

Snack strategy: Eat before or after; you're in the middle of downtown Rehoboth, so options are a short walk.

Pro Tips

  • Sundays are summer-only (June 7–August 30, 10AM–3PM) — closed Sundays the rest of the year.
  • Use the library's own lot behind the building; in summer ask about the daily parking pass, which needs everyone in the car to be inside for more than 30 minutes.
  • Several programs are seasonal — Little Yogis and Video Game Night, for instance, start in December — so check the calendar, don't assume.

When to Go

Best Time to Visit

Monday through Wednesday, 9AM–7PM, is the widest window. Thursday and Friday close at 5PM and Saturday runs 10AM–3PM. Sundays only in summer, 10AM–3PM, June 7–August 30.

Seasonal Notes

Monday–Wednesday 9AM–7PM, Thursday–Friday 9AM–5PM, Saturday 10AM–3PM. Sundays 10AM–3PM June 7–August 30 only; closed Sundays the rest of the year.

Rainy Day?

The obvious free indoor fallback on a rained-out beach day, right on Rehoboth Ave.
