What to Expect

NoMa is Wilmington's new North Market Street branch: two stories, roughly 24,000 square feet, described by the library as a next-generation library and community campus hub with creative technology spaces, community gathering areas, wellness-focused spaces, and outdoor engagement areas.

The part parents need first: the library says NoMa's programming centers on teens and adults, and that youth services programs such as storytimes will continue at the North Wilmington branch. So if you're coming for a storytime, go to North Wilmington instead.

It's also still opening. Through August 22 it's soft-open Saturdays only, 10am–5pm; the grand opening is Saturday, August 29. Regular hours start in September. The branch website is still under construction and wireless printing isn't active yet, so call rather than assume.

Who It's Best For

The library describes NoMa's programming focus as inter-generational, centered on teens and adults, and says youth services programs such as storytimes will continue at the North Wilmington branch. Younger kids are welcome in the building; the calendar just isn't built for them.
