What to Expect

Lewes runs its story times split by age — Preschool Story Time and a separate Babies & Toddlers Story Time, both most weeks — with L.E.A.P. — Read to the Dogs! giving new readers a dog to practice on.

What sets this branch apart is the older-kid bench. Saturday Chess Club and a Dungeons & Dragons group both meet regularly, and teens have 3rd Space Wednesdays, a Free Write session and a Shakespeare Summer Acting Intensive for middle schoolers. The library also runs a museum pass program and, in summer, SummerScape performances in its outdoor pavilion.

Parking is straightforward: the lot entrance is on the left off Monroe Avenue. Watch the weekend, though — Saturday is only 10am to 2pm, and Sunday isn't on the posted hours.

Who It's Best For

Two separate story times cover babies and toddlers on one side and preschoolers on the other. Early readers have L.E.A.P. — Read to the Dogs! Chess club and D&D pull in older kids, and 3rd Space Wednesdays and the Shakespeare acting intensive are aimed at teens and middle schoolers.
