Brandywine Hundred is the regional library for northern New Castle County — a 40,000-square-foot building that opened in 2003 with more than 150,000 items, study rooms, and meeting space. What makes it a family stop is where it sits: inside Talley Day Park, which has a large ADA-accessible playground, so story time and outdoor play are one trip. The under-five calendar is unusually deep — Book Babies Stay & Play, Toddler Tales, KinderSkills Story Time, Jitterbugs Music & Movement, PreK S.T.R.E.A.M., PAWS Read to the Dogs, and a W.E.L.L.S. Little Amigos Storytime with LanguageU. Teens get their own hangouts and a leadership council. Free, with sign-up on some programs. Closed Thursdays and Sundays.
