The Pick
✦ Our Pick
Strawberry Festival
Free · Bellevue State Park Playground · outdoor 🚗 8 min from Wilmington
Free outdoor festival on the playground side of Bellevue State Park — live music in the bandshell, a craft fair, and the actual community of Bellevue celebrating its spring. Annual, one-Saturday-a-year event. Older kids can roam the craft fair while the younger ones wander the playground.
Why this made the cut
Annual, free, local. Bandshell music plus a craft fair gives older kids something to wander through while you decompress on a bench. The kind of weekend event you forward to a friend.

Field Notes — Drinks for You, Room for Them
The Creamery of Kennett Square has food trucks, music, and designated kid zones. We grabbed a drink while the kids ran safely within sight. A rare win-win.
