Playgrounds at the Delaware beaches with kids
Sometimes the kids need a swing and a slide, not more sand. This is the roster of named public playgrounds across the Delaware beach towns — a destination playground at Cape Henlopen, an inclusive one off the Rehoboth boardwalk, and the town parks in Lewes and Bethany. One honest note up front: the best ones are a block or more off the boardwalk, not on it, and most are free (only the two state parks charge a vehicle entrance fee). 1. Cape Henlopen State Park

The best destination playground at the beaches — multiple climbing structures, slides, and swings (including infant and full-support seats), with a shade structure and picnic table, a short walk from the nature center. A state-park vehicle fee applies; the playground is free once you're in.
2. Delaware Seashore State Park
Rehoboth Beach
A newer playground (slides, swings, monkey bars, climbing webbing, an outdoor xylophone) near the Indian River Inlet, with the bridge in view and the beach a short walk away. State-park vehicle fee applies.

Is there a playground on the Rehoboth or Bethany boardwalk?
Not on the boards themselves — the good playgrounds are a block or more off. In Rehoboth, Lake Gerar (inclusive) and Grove Park (shaded) are the closest; in Bethany, the downtown Municipal Children's Playground is a block off the boardwalk.
